Corvetteditorial
By now, most of you have heard the reason
the newsletter is a bit late this month -
Allan Edward Garry, born 11:41 AM April
2nd, 5 pounds 4 ounces, 18 inches long.
Have a cigar! Guess I'll have to convert the
Vette to a Nomad.
I managed to sneak away from the hospital
long enough to check out the San Diego
Auto Show. They had a Grand Sport
Vette on display, with a live act playing the
Motown Sound.

Miniature Golf
By Kay Wolfe
Our second annual miniature golf
tournament and brunch was great fun for all
who participtated. We had 22 Vetters,
including Sharon and Ken Hartley from
COCSD, who gave up an Arizona weekend
when they heard about our event. We were
glad to see them until Sharon walked off
with the top women's prize in the golf
tournament! Now we're not so sure we'll
invite them back!
Eddie Sheehan is definately our best
golfer, having won the men's prize two
years in a row now. He scored a great 48,
four under par. We had a tie in the
women's category with Helene Sheehan
and Sharon Hartley both keeping their
score at par 52. A sudden-death playoff
(why do they call it that!) took two holes
before Sharon bested Helene by one
stroke. Congratulations to our winners.
Don Wolfe, who planned this event, was
not able to attend so Frank Tecca
graciously stepped in to lead us on a nice
one-hour caravan through some pretty
scenic back-country roads to our
destination at the Castle Creek Country
Club near Lawrence Welk. Thanks Frank
for doing a terrific job. We enjoyed a nice
all-you-can-eat champagne brunch there. It
was a good thing they decided to give us a
separate dining room - as the noise level of
our group went up as fast as the glasses of
champagne were poured. We ended up in
a joke-a-thon - didn't know we had so many
stand-up comics in the group!
Thanks again to Shawn Silva, Frank and
Gloria Tecca, and Eddie who stepped in to
help out with the event. Let's do it again
next year!
